The news is short today. I have two doctor's appointments and I still need to eat and shower. Yikes.

-- [Chuck] Sandy destroyed homes, hurt and killed people, brought down power grids and hospitals, and showed us all what inequality in NYC really looks like. Here's an article written by someone who weathered the storm in a hotel, as his family was able to afford it. But the service workers stayed on their jobs, unable to afford to quit working while leaving their families home.
-- Activists protesting the US Drone systems were arrested after blocking the main gates to Beale AFB. Roughly 100 activists showed up at the protest, with nine being arrested, among them veterans.
-- [Chuck] While Walmart workers are still striking, it's interesting to see that the news hasn't really been talking about it. Here's a great article to keep you up to date on what's going on for the corporate giant and its striking employees.
